Adopt One of the Following Manatees

Juliet is a female manatee that came to Miami Seaquarium® is 1958 due to a collision with a boat. She is the largest and oldest manatee being 10.5 feet long and over 2500 pounds. She is believed to be in her 50s. She has also become an adoptive mom to many rescued orphans. Juliet is one of few manatees that has been documented to spontaneously lactate, when a baby is introduced to her pool. You can find Juliet swimming in the Celebrity Pool at Miami Seaquarium®.

Phoenix was rescued from Port Everglades in March of 1993 after being impacted by the propellers of a boat. Due to this collision, Phoenix lost 25% of her blood volume, ¾ of her back paddle and portions of her vertebrae were left exposed leaving her partially paralyzed. Phoenix can today be seen in our Celebrity pool at Miami Seaquarium®.

Phyllis is a female manatee who was rescued in March of 1997. Rescued from Coral Gables, Phyllis was named after the woman who found her entangled in nylon strapping. As she grew, the strap cut into her skin causing massive infections both internally and externally. Miami Seaquarium® vet and animal care staff must regularly treat her condition. You can find Phyllis swimming in the Celebrity Pool at Miami Seaquarium®.
