A Unique Encounter

Learn about our African penguins at Penguin Isle and immerse yourself in their environment with our all-new penguin encounter! Providing a unique interaction with one of the world’s most beloved birds, you can experience them in an intimate setting. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and interact with a penguin one-on-one.

Penguin Encounter Requirements:

  • Minimum height requirement is 52". No exceptions. (52" = 4'4 = 132 cm)
  • Participants under 10 yrs that meet the height requirement must be accompanied by an adult participant.
  • Participants 10 - 17 yrs must be accompanied by a paying adult as an observer or participant.
  • Program is not available to expectant mothers.
  • Observing children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Guests with disabilities who require special accommodations are requested to book via phone (305) 365-2501 for advance accommodation.

Things you should know before your visit:

  • Advance reservations are strongly suggested.
  • Please allow about 1 hour for program.
  • Enjoy a full day of shows and exhibits with your encounter.
  • Participants are not permitted to wear jewelry.
  • Lockers will be provided during your encounter.
  • Program is conducted in English. You may provide a translator who will also be participating in the water.
  • **Observers will be able to watch their family or friends from an observing area.

Dolphin Encounter

This fun-filled, 30-minute program is a great way for young and old alike to have an unforgettable experience with a dolphin. During an Encounter, the dolphin swims to you while you stand in just a few feet of water. Do things like shake hands, share a friendly kiss and even try out some training signals.

Dolphin Odyssey

Explore the ocean’s most loved creatures during this deep-water experience. You’ll have approximately 30 minutes to share all sorts of behaviors, including kisses, handshakes, rubs, training techniques and feeding your new friend. The experience is highlighted by an awesome dorsal pull.

Our VIP Tour is an interactive 2 1/2-hour program where you may have the opportunity to get up-close and personal with some of our exotic animal friends. A personal tour guide will take you on a fascinating adventure.

Sea Trek Reef Encounter

Marvel at an underwater walking journey through our 300,000-gallon tropical reef. With a state-of-the-art dive helmet that allows you to breathe freely, you'll feel right at home under the sea. During your 20-minute journey, you'll encounter tropical fish, sting rays and a variety of unique sea creatures.
